We are often asked “what do you grow”? The unexpected answer is always the same, “we grow the soil”, because healthy farming starts with healthy soil.
Instead of degrading the soil we feed the soil. And when feeding the soil, we feed our animals.
At Nutshell Farm there is no use whatsoever of herbicides such as Roundup or Glyphosate or pesticides like Pyrethrum or any other chemical agents, synthetic fertilisers or non-organic compounds.
Certified Biodynamic
Following our initial investigation into the mineral composition of the farm’s soil and the corrective addition of the missing or insufficient minerals we decided to take the commitment to producing the finest quality meat and produce to the ultimate level by the implementation of biodynamic principles. This led to Nutshell Farm not only ultimately become certified organic but also being certified biodynamic.
Biodynamic takes organic farming to a whole new level by treating the entire farm as a living organism by incorporating special herbal compost preparations.

Our Home
Our home stands on 40+ acres of farmland, with 22 organized paddocks, a massive shed, and amazing views of the neighboring farms and rolling hills.
And surrounded by the beautiful natural wonders of NSW.

Infrastructure
Over the past nine years virtually all of the fencing has been replaced. The farm now boasts total permitter security fencing and more than 25 permanent paddocks designed for easy animal rotation have been constructed. Farm roads have been built for easy access.
Water security is now a feature of the farm following the construction of a huge dam and an 85-metre deep solar-powered borehole that now feeds underground water to many of the paddocks. Domestic water storage has been boosted to 135,000 litres.
